Russian Olive is a fast growing ornamental tree often reaching heights of up to 25 feet.  It is characterized by its narrow silvery leaves and small silvery olive shaped fruits.  Russian Olive was first promoted as a desirable ornamental, yet when it invades low-lying pastures, meadows, and waterways, it becomes a severe weed problem as it forms monocultures.
